Another adopted horse! This time a gelding called Blacksmith's Treasure

The minute I saw him I thought he would immediately fit into the 'pirate' side of things on Fortose...don't ask me why, his colours made me go "he needs to be 18th century styled" and so he is

Blacksmith, or Smithie as he is now called, was originally born in rather favourable circumstances. He was foaled at one of the more pristine and renowned stables in the Sanders area. His mixed blood however did little to impress the breeders there, and his slight faults such as larger than usual hooves and knobbled knees made him a rather ugly sight as a foal. But like every ugly duckling, beauty bursts through eventually, and as a yearling he could clearly move gracefully and well despite his afflictions.

He was sent as a newly backed three year old to the then Commander Peck of the Company out to hunt down the pirates of the area, and though Peck was also unimpressed with the colt's appearene he couldn't discredit the speed of which he galloped. Blacksmith was used as his saddle horse for a while when he was ashore picking off pirates one by one, and soon whenever his telltale coat appeared around a corner, all the troublemakers of the town would scatter. Blacksmith was Peck's for eight years, and when Peck noticed the horse slowing down in its age, he sold him for a fresher, younger horse.

Blacksmith was then passed from owner to owner until he ended up in the coastal town of Lionwa. His last owner lost him in a game of poker to a pirate, and before Blacksmith knew it he was being shepherded onto a ship by the one thing he had been taught to hunt down. Mercutio was a little surprised to see a horse walking around the deck trembling and worried, but he allowed the crew to keep their little 'pet' until they lost interest.

Luckily, they never have, and he's now become something of a mascot for the ship, despite the fact horses and ships really don't mix
